Employees of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Belarus and representatives of the military attaché apparatus visited the grave of Anatoly Nikolayevich Davidovich, the National Hero of Azerbaijan, a native of Belarus, on September 27 in connection with the Memorial Day, laid a wreath in front of him and paid tribute to his memory.
The embassy told AZERTAC that later, the National Hero’s mother, Kima Davidovich, who lives in Slutsk, was visited at her home, she was closely interested in her health and concerns, and she was given a gift on behalf of the embassy.
Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev said that the valor and bravery of Major A.N.Davidovich, who heroically died fighting in the First Karabakh War, was highly appreciated by Azerbaijan, and after his death he was honored with the title of “National Hero of Azerbaijan” by National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
The diplomat emphasized that visiting the grave of A.N.Davidovich on September 27 – Memorial Day, which is an expression of deep respect for the memory of our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War and sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the territorial integrity of our country, is an expression of respect for him.
The ambassador also touched upon Azerbaijan-Belarus relations.
K. Davidovich expressed his gratitude to the President and the state of Azerbaijan for the deep respect for his son’s memory, as well as for the attention and care shown to him. The mother of the National Hero emphasized that she welcomed Azerbaijan’s restoration of its sovereign rights in Karabakh and the provision of the country’s territorial integrity with great joy.
