The second training of the “COP29 simulation” project was held at Azerbaijan University

The second training of the “COP29 simulation” project was organized at Azerbaijan University. Experts from the USA, Pakistan and Azerbaijan spoke in front of the project participants at the training, which was jointly moderated by the head of the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities, Doctor of Philosophy in Political Sciences Elvin Talishinski and the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics Mrs. Guliyeva. Samir Novruzov, the head of the American-Azerbaijani Integration Center, an expert on EPC projects in the oil and gas industry in the United States, noted that the decision to hold COP29 in Azerbaijan is a manifestation of trust and respect for our country in the international arena. He emphasized that the elimination of a number of problems related to climate change occurring in the world is very important for both Azerbaijan and the United States, and provided information about the work done in this direction in both countries.

Then Zaman Bajwa, executive director of Pakistan Kashmir Youth Forum Think Tank, spoke. Zaman Bajwa said that the problem of climate change is a priority issue for Pakistan, and emphasized the importance of active participation of young people in this process. The Pakistani expert also commented on the holding of the 29th session of the COP in Azerbaijan.

Finally, Fuad Huseynzade, the Chairman of the Public Union for the Support of Journalists to Diaspora Activities, spoke about the importance of holding COP29 in our country and the role of the media, especially civil society, in this session.

It should be noted that the “COP29 simulation” project, which was held with the participation of students from various higher education institutions, was the result of Azerbaijan’s hosting of COP29 (the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change) and “Solidarity for a Green World”. is organized within the framework of “year”. The purpose of the project is to transfer knowledge to students about the impact and consequences of the political decisions of the states on the environment and our planet, to develop their skills of public speaking, argument formation and debate, and to inform students about the mentioned international event. The exercises of the “COP29 simulation” project will continue in April and May.
