On May 27, a conference on “Azerbaijan-Italy: new energy policy and bilateral relations” was held at the well-known University of Perugia, Italy, jointly organized by the “Baku Club of Political Scientists” Public Union and the International Relations Analysis Center. Zaur Mammadov, Chairman of the “Baku Club of Political Scientists” Public Union, spoke about the importance of the event and the developing Azerbaijan-Italy relations.
Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Management Board of the International Relations Analysis Center, informed the participants of the conference about Azerbaijan’s position in the international system, foreign policy priorities and the situation in the region.
Researchers-scientists of the University of Perugia – Francesco Randazzo, Emilio Cassese, Valentina Chabert and others noted the growing influence of Azerbaijan, a country of COP29 in the world, the positive development dynamics of relations between Baku and Rome, and shared their views on the topic.
Javid Valiyev, head of UNM department, and Shahmar Hajiyev, chief adviser of the institution, explained the political and economic aspects of Azerbaijan’s role as a bridge between East and West, North and South in Eurasia.
At the conference, questions were answered about the nature of the new energy strategy of Azerbaijan, which is gradually strengthening its regional position as a green energy exporter.
The University of Perugia has been operating since 1308. 25,000 students study at the university, this ancient educational institution has 1,100 professors and researchers.
Within the framework of the project, various events will be organized in Italy in the coming days.
