Scientists contribute to the work done in the liberated areas with scientific research

Elmir Babayev, Chairman of ANAS Young Scientist and Specialist Council: “Education of the population on environmental protection in liberated areas can be further accelerated through social networks” in this regard, the correct use of the region’s potential is one of the important factors in economic reintegration. The massive return of the population to our liberated territories, the creation of settlements and modern infrastructure there has returned Karabakh to our society. However, the mass settlement of these areas, at the same time, the growing international interest in Karabakh, and the desire to travel by foreign tourists make the establishment of tourism, especially ecotourism standards in the region urgent. The opinions and suggestions of experts and scientists on the subject are of interest to our society.

Our interviewee is Elmir Babayev, chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Experts.

– In our liberated territories, the environment, including water bodies and their protection of bioresources, as well as other natural resources, is also important in terms of compliance with the principles of “green growth” in our country. In this context, how do you evaluate the measures implemented in our country, including in the liberated territories?

– Undoubtedly, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our lands achieved by our people thanks to the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief, thanks to our valiant, brave and valiant soldiers, is one of the most glorious pages of our Motherland’s history. We feel proud, we are proud! Therefore, we are grateful to our martyrs and veterans! Of course, the work that started and continues immediately after the liberation of our lands from occupation is very heartwarming. The demining operation that took place in a short period of time, numerous events carried out to inform the international community, international and strategically important airports that were built and put into use, smart villages and cities that were built, the renovation and construction of mosques that are our places of faith, as well as the great return and The teaching process that will start this year at Karabakh University is a part of fantastic realities.

– How is scientific research conducted on the topic we are talking about? What ideas and suggestions can you have regarding the activities carried out in this field at the scientific level?

– Our scientists are also contributing to the ongoing and ongoing work in the territories freed from occupation with their scientific research. Thus, ANAS scientists documenting historical truths and facts, conducting archeological and epigraphic research, investigating the effect of ecocides carried out during the occupation on biodiversity by our biologists, investigating the eco-terror suffered by flora and fauna, the production waters of our ecologists being discharged into our rivers by the occupying state for many years and banned by the World Health Organization work is being done in the direction of studying the level of pollution with persistent organic pollutants and heavy metals. As a chemist, I can say that the scientists of the Catalysis and Inorganic Institute, where I work, have monitored the condition of hydraulic installations in the freed areas, studied their corrosion and given appropriate recommendations, as well as conducting research on the study of ore composition in a number of natural deposits. In addition, scientists of the Institute of Radiation Problems have carried out studies on the study of the radiation background in different areas. The establishment of seismological stations in those areas by the scientists of the Republican Seismological Service Center of ANAS together with their Turkish colleagues is one of the important works.

– Within the framework of the Great Return, people will settle more densely in the territories freed from occupation. This increases the possibility of relatively more pollution of water bodies. In this sense, educating the population relocated to the regions, ecotourism enthusiasts, amateur fishermen and other groups in terms of environment and ecotourism is the need of the day. What actions are needed in this direction? Are studies being conducted in this direction?

– Of course, as I mentioned, there are problems to be investigated and a lot of work to be done. Against this background, comprehensive research and projects are also carried out. This is greatly supported by the state. In the past, “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!” sponsored by the Azerbaijan Science Foundation. grants have created special opportunities for scientists. It is true that things are being done. We know that maintaining a business is often more difficult than building it. This difficulty can be overcome by educational measures. In this matter, mass media, social activists and we young people have a great job to do. These things can be accelerated through social networks.

What are the dangers and threats of “Metsamor” to the Karabakh region and the ecological situation of the region in general?

– After that accident, world scientists and owners of advanced technology expressed the demand to close NPPs. NPPs are always considered a source of life-threatening danger for people. Considering that “Metsamor” NPP has long expired and is currently unusable, we can imagine how big a danger we are facing. On the other hand, the location of “Metsamor” NPP in a seismically active region makes the danger even higher.

Measures related to the protection of bioresources and living things in water basins are also important in the liberated areas. What measures can be taken to prevent illegal hunting and poaching? What are your suggestions?

This can be achieved through awareness and the application of strict legal measures. It is also a civic responsibility. We know that protecting the homeland means protecting the national identity. Every stone, every blessing of the motherland is valuable. Every citizen should understand his responsibility and be able to contribute in this work. Because we are reviving Karabakh!

– Bu mövzuda əsas auditoriya və hədəf qrupları üçün maarifləndirmə, təşviq və məlumatlandırma baxımından hansı sosial media layihələri həyata keçirilə bilər? Yeni media vasitələrindən yararlanmaqla təbliğat necə qurulmalıdır?

– İnternet əsri və süni intellekt dövrüdür. Çoxlu elektron resurslar var ki, onlardan istifadə etməklə əsas auditoriya və hədəf qruplarına çatmaq, onları maarifləndirmək, təşviq etmək və məlumatlandırmaq olar. Fiziki olaraq, QHT-lərin, icitmai qurumların və könüllü təşkilatlarının azad edilmiş ərazilərə çoxsaylı səfərləri və səfər zamanı elektron daşıyıcılarla aparılan ətraf mühitin qorunması və ekoturizm standartlarına əməl edilməsi ilə bağlı qeydiyyatları sosial şəbəkələr və KİV-lər vasitəsilə geniş auditoriyaya çatdırılması ilə təbliğat və təşviqat həyata keçirilə bilər.
