“Congress of Azerbaijani Communities” of the Republic of Belarus issued a statement supporting the extraordinary presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024. It is stated in the statement issued on behalf of Natig Bagirov, chairman of the “Azerbaijani Communities Congress” of the Republic of Belarus, Honored master of sports with the Order of Glory, Natig Bagirov: “Thousands of Azerbaijanis live happily in the Republic of Belarus. These are people of different ages, representatives of various professions. But we are all united by a feeling of great love for our historical Motherland, for Azerbaijan. We proudly declare that Azerbaijan achieved truly historic victories during the Presidency of Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
Thanks to the brilliantly thought-out and developed strategy for the development of the state, Azerbaijan has become the undisputed economic leader of the South Caucasus. Today, Azerbaijan, which has a very low external debt and colossal gold and foreign exchange reserves, is an example of a strong, stable state. At the same time, projects initiated and implemented by Azerbaijan benefit a large number of European countries.
All this, in turn, led to the constant growth of Azerbaijan’s geopolitical weight in the world. Proof of this was Azerbaijan’s acquisition of the right to host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) next year. This is a big, historic Victory that will allow leaders of about two hundred countries around the world to visit next year and see the rapidly developing Azerbaijan with their own eyes.
But in addition to the rapid development achieved thanks to the strategy of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan entered its name in modern world history as the first state that managed to restore its territorial integrity by military means. Having done this, I would especially note that, contrary to the plans of the leading world powers, which were interested in the very fact of the existence of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
The Azerbaijani army, which became one of the most combat-ready in the world thanks to the President of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, won a historic victory in the 44-day war, which ended with the surrender of Armenia and the raising of the national flag of Azerbaijan in the great Shusha. And on September 19-20 of this year, as a result of the anti-terrorist operation carried out in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan, the state flag of Azerbaijan was raised in Khankendi.
Thus, the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict was finally resolved. And this is the historical merit of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. And we, the leadership and members of the IGO “Congress of Azerbaijani Communities” of the Republic of Belarus, consider it important for ourselves to declare our full support for the idea of holding early presidential elections in Azerbaijan. We are convinced that only under the leadership of the current President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, will our historical Motherland continue to rapidly develop, reviving liberated Karabakh, playing an increasingly significant role in the world political arena. We appeal to all Azerbaijanis of the world to do everything possible to support the historical Personality, who made the dream of each of us a reality”.
