A meeting was held with the Chairman of the Center for Analysis of Democratic Processes, one of the well-known think tanks of Uzbekistan, Azamat Pardayev at the Social Research Center.
Azamat Pardayev, who visited Azerbaijan, spoke about the importance of relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. It was stated at the meeting that the people of Azerbaijan felt the fraternal support of the Uzbek people in the most difficult period. Among the countries in the post-Soviet space, Uzbekistan was the only country that did not establish diplomatic relations with Armenia due to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands and supported Azerbaijan.
Elshad Mirbashir, a member of the Board of Directors of SRC, MP Elshad Mirbashir, also emphasized that after the independence of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, the historical friendship and brotherly relations were further developed and reached the current level after many years of testing. Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and former President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov made exceptional contributions to the development of relations between the two brotherly countries and the formation of interstate relations during the years of independence. During the visits of President Islam Karimov to Azerbaijan in 1996 and National Leader Heydar Aliyev to Uzbekistan in 1997, strategic directions of relations between our countries were determined.
Ilyas Huseynov, Ayten Babayeva and Tural Ismayilov, sector heads of SRC, touched on the points they consider necessary for future cooperation.
It was noted that the personal relations of President Ilham Aliyev and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also play an important role in reaching a high level of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations. It is no coincidence that both presidents often meet in the framework of various international events in addition to state visits and official visits. In this regard, we must say that the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to our country is very important in terms of the development of cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries and the achievement of the set goals.
It was decided to continue the relations between SRC and CADP.
