A ceremony was held in connection with the commemoration day of Heydar Aliyev, the eldest son of the Azerbaijani people, a genius with invaluable services in the history of our statehood, a world-renowned politician, and National Leader, jointly organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan and the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev.
Employees of the Embassy and Cultural Center, local Azerbaijanis and Uzbeks, members of the Azerbaijani diaspora, and journalists took part in the ceremony.
First, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev and the guests laid flowers in front of the bust of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the embassy. Later, the participants of the event got acquainted with the photo and publication exhibition dedicated to the life and activities of the Great Leader, organized in the lobby of the embassy.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Huseyn Guliyev talked about the life and activities of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, spoke about his unparalleled services to the Azerbaijani people and statehood, and said that the memory of this outstanding personality lives in the hearts of every Azerbaijani. He noted that today modern and independent Azerbaijan successfully continues its development course under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Speaking about the victory of our country in the 44-day Patriotic War, Ambassador Huseyin Guliyev noted that this is the pride of the entire Azerbaijani people, Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, who fulfilled the will of the Great Leader and freed the lands of our ancestors from Armenian invaders and vandals.
Finally, Huseyn Guliyev emphasized that Heydar Aliyev would be proud of today’s Azerbaijan, which he dreamed of, which has become an example of power, prestige, success and development thanks to the reforms carried out by President Ilham Aliyev.
Professor Erkin Nuriddinov, executive director of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan friendship society, who spoke later, local Azerbaijanis and other participants of the event shared their thoughts and opinions about the Great Leader, and expressed their respect for this genius who dedicated his life to selfless service to the people of Azerbaijan and statehood.
Let us note that the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with great respect by laying flowers in front of his monuments in the Azerbaijan Cultural Center and Heydar Aliyev Park located in Tashkent.
