The opening ceremony of the renewed memorial plaque of Hazi Aslanov was held in Volgograd

On October 18, 2023, in the hero city of Volgograd, the opening ceremony of the updated plaque in memory of twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General of Tank Forces, defender of Stalingrad, participant in the Battle of Stalingrad Azi Akhadovich Aslvnov took place.
It is significant that this significant event occurred in the eightieth year of the defeat of the Nazi troops at Stalingrad by the Red Army.
The memorial plaque to Azi Aslanov was originally installed and opened more than 57 years ago, on February 2, 1966 on the wall of the secondary school building N91 on the day of the 23rd anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad.
Over time, under the influence of the external environment, the appearance of the board changed, the letters became difficult to read, and therefore the Chairman of the National-Cultural Autonomy of the Azerbaijanis of the Closed Joint-Stock Company of Moscow, Ali Alievich Kazymov, took the initiative to update the board. His initiative was supported by the director of Volgograd school N91 Gorshkoa Tatyana Viktorovna and activist of the Azerbaijani community of Volgograd Rafik Ismailov. The text, which was originally on the old board, was preserved, and they decided to place a portrait of Azi Aslanov above the text, placing it on the top of the board.
The opening ceremony of the board was attended by representatives of the city and regional administration, deputies of Moscow, Moscow region and Volgograd at various levels and their representatives, representatives of the central and regional branches of the Russian Labor Valor ROO, activists of the Azerbaijani community of Volgograd and Moscow.
Opening the updated board was entrusted to a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a participant in the Battles of Stalingrad and Kursk, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the 95th Guards Rifle Poltava Order of Lenin, Red Banner Orders of Suvorov and Bogdan Khmelnitsky Division,
Honorary citizen of the Prokhorovsky district of the Belgorod region, Traktorozavodsky district of Volgograd, Oktyabrsky district of the Volgograd region, the village of Novodanilovka, the cities of Orekhov, Prague, Rokycany, Dobruv and Western Bohemia legendary
Maria Mikhailovna Rokhlina and public figure, chairman of the Moscow public organization “Azerbaijan National-Cultural Autonomy”, grandson of participants in the Great Patriotic War, initiator and philanthropist of the renovation of the memorial plaque A. Aslanov Ali Alievich Kazymov.
After the opening of the canvas that covered the memorial plaque, Maria Mikhailovna offered to take it to Moscow and transfer it to the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill.
After the opening ceremony, the guests went up to the school assembly hall. Maria Mikhailovna said a few parting words to the guys, the guests once again greeted those present.
Labor veteran, member of the Information Commission of the Moscow Committee of War Veterans, deputy chairman of the Moscow public organization “Azerbaijan National-Cultural Autonomy”, granddaughter of a participant in the Great Patriotic War, Silina Irina Jafarovna, presented the director of school N91 with gifts from the Committee of War Veterans and from the national-cultural autonomy of the city. Moscow (in particular, books about Azerbaijan’s participation in the Great Patriotic War and about Gaidar Aliyev, whose centenary we recently celebrated).
Then the school students showed a musical and literary composition about the military path of Azi Akhadovich Aslanov, about the streets of Volgograd, which bear the names of heroes.
At the end of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between Volgograd school N91 and Moscow school N1566 “In memory of the heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad”.
The event was held at the highest patriotic level.
