President Ilham Aliyev: “The state of Azerbaijan is being built and developed on national and moral values based on the Great Leader’s bequest to us”
Today is the 31st anniversary of the New Azerbaijan Party. During this past period, the New Azerbaijan Party has adequately coped with the goals and tasks it set for itself. Of course, on the occasion of this historic day, congratulations are extended to all party members and the people of Azerbaijan as a whole. November 21 is a historical day that plays an important role in the life of the entire Azerbaijani people and state. When we analyze the socio-political situation in Azerbaijan 31 years ago, we will see that the promotion of NAP is an objective necessity. This is clearly felt from the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s response to the appeal of 91 intellectuals dated October 16, 1992: “I believe that in the conditions of democracy and political pluralism, which is the basis of the future life and activity of the independent Azerbaijan state, the New Azerbaijan Party mentioned in your appeal creation arises from objective necessity. Such a party can actively participate in the political and social life of Azerbaijan and play a historic role in the strengthening and development of the new, independent state of Azerbaijan. Yes, during this period, YAP fulfilled its historical mission, as mentioned by the Great Leader. He played an important role in the development of the state and statehood of Azerbaijan, and in the transparency of the political environment. The New Azerbaijan Party led by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev has become the leading force of society in a short period of time. The Great Leader developed the New Azerbaijan Party, the leading political force of our society, in a short period of time, raising it to the level of “the party of yesterday, today and tomorrow”, as he said. That is why the party has been in power for 30 years with the love and support of the people.
The New Azerbaijan Party has always understood its responsibility. This comes from the national responsibility to the people. To date, the real steps taken by YAP have had their effect. Party activists listened to people. In general, the New Azerbaijan Party has always defended the interests of the people. In other words, the party carried out work on the interests of the people. This is the number one task of YAP. We see this in the example of Azerbaijan, which is developing dynamically, and people whose social welfare is improving. Therefore, our people support the political course founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. All this motivates the activists of the New Azerbaijan Party even more. The fateful tasks facing the party require ideological unity. The principles of independent statehood, rule of law, Azerbaijanism, creative evolution, civil solidarity and social justice, which form the basis of the party’s ideology, essentially determine the ideological base of Azerbaijan’s political future as an ideological guarantee for the implementation of the tasks facing the NAP.
As time changes, life puts new tasks before people and states. During this period, NAP kept up with the times and successfully achieved its historical goals. Of course, NAP also faces new tasks. All NAP members take this for granted. Such tasks were mentioned in the resolution of the 1st Congress of the NAP: “The Congress confirms that, as indicated in the Party’s Program and the appeal addressed to the population of the Republic, during the founding of the Party, Azerbaijan experienced a very serious political, economic, social and moral crisis, and our statehood was in danger. The national and civil strife in the country, the arbitrariness of the armed groups, and the looting of the country’s wealth had reached an unbearable level. The gravity of the situation, the hopelessness, the instability of life created hopelessness for the future. As a result of the arbitrariness, selfishness, disregard for the wishes and desires of the people, as a result of extreme nationalistic and half-hearted national policy, as a result of the promotion of persons who patronize criminal gangs to important state positions, the separatist movements that took place in the country brought our country to the disaster of June 1993 and APC- He decided the fate of the Musavat government.
At the difficult moment, when the threat of disintegration and extinction exists for Azerbaijan under the grip of the overlapping interests of both internal and external reactionary forces, the Congress decided, at the request and demand of the people, that the leader of the Party, Heydar Aliyev, courageously undertake the great mission of liberation in June 1993 , appreciates the strengthening of statehood and rule of law in Azerbaijan as a result of the important works done in a short period of time, the elimination of political crisis, national and civil strife, the end of chaos, anarchy and lack of power, and considers all these to be the salvation of Azerbaijan”.
The New Azerbaijan Party constantly promotes a healthy environment of cooperation for the sake of the development of the state and society. Reforms that serve to establish open and reliable relations are an integral part of the emerging political configuration. Development of government-opposition relations on sound foundations is one of the main indicators characterizing the state policy of President Ilham Aliyev. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the New Azerbaijan Party held at the Heydar Aliyev Center on November 21 of last year, President Ilham Aliyev said that the state of Azerbaijan is being built and developed on the basis of the great leader’s bequest to us: “Azerbaijani values are for us. are core values. We are all witnesses of this, that the young generation also grows up in the national spirit, the young generation is loyal to national traditions and the ideas of Azerbaijanism. All nations in Azerbaijan live as one family, and this was the policy of the Great Leader. By successfully continuing and enriching this policy, we have created a rare and unrepeatable environment in Azerbaijan today, I think on a global scale. The second Karabakh war showed this once again. All the representatives of all the peoples living in Azerbaijan were ready to die as one, they were going to die, raising our flag in the liberated lands. This is our great advantage. In this direction, Azerbaijan is showing exemplary behavior both within the country and at the international level. The main issue is that this policy is supported by all Azerbaijani people, all ethnic groups living in Azerbaijan. This increases our strength, and this is how the future generations should live, I am sure that they will live like this”.
NAP has already become the leading political force of Azerbaijan. Therefore, YAP is developing successfully “for the sake of modern, powerful and rich Azerbaijan”.
